02. Quick Recovery and Accurate Information Efforts in the Event of a Power Outage

Constantly monitoring power facilities and using an automated system for early recovery from power outages

At the Central Load Dispatching Center as well as the Grid Operation Centers and business sites for each area, we maintain a 365-day, 24-hour watch on the electricity flow, in order to respond quickly if a power outage should occur.
When a power outage occurs, the automated system for power distribution pinpoints the trouble spot and immediately locks it out, so that power to healthy sections can be restored automatically. At the same time, a work team is dispatched to the site to remove the cause of the power outage.

How Power Is Restored

In case of a disaster, we quickly assess the situation and respond with technical know-how based on extensive training

In the event of a disaster, we use drones and mobile devices to quickly collect information and investigate the extent and status of the damage. This information is then applied to achieve a quick recovery.
In order to fulfill our mission of ensuring a safe and stable supply of electricity, we regularly train for various power outage recovery situations. Through our yearly “Company-wide Skills Presentation” and similar events, we are aiming to further enhance the skills of personnel working at the front line.

Providing information in a timely manner for customers’ peace of mind

Easy-to-understand and up-to-date information about the status of power outages and recovery prospects is provided through a variety of channels including the website, SNS, power outage information apps, call centers, automated answering services utilizing AI, etc.
