Initiatives of Kansai Transmission and Distribution to Deal With Energy Issues

Electricity is a vital form of energy that supports daily life and industrial activities.
As an energy related business, Kansai Transmission and Distribution must engage with a range of issues, such as the global environment and the difficulty of ensuring stable sources of energy in resource-poor Japan.
Our stance with regard to energy stability and our initiatives to promote the spread of renewable energy sources are outlined below.

  • Ensuring a Stable Energy Supply
    In a country with few natural resources such as Japan, it is important to have the right approach. While putting Safety first and foremost, we devote equal efforts towards Energy Security, Economy, and Environmental Conservation.
    With regard to power generation, each method has its advantages and drawbacks. We believe that it is important to find the right energy mix for optimum results.
  • Promotion of Renewable Energy Sources
    Offering advantages such as low CO2 emissions and domestic availability of sources, renewable energy is becoming ever more important. To support the spread of renewable energy, Kansai Transmission and Distribution is reviewing operation methods of transmission lines with a view towards reducing and eliminating limitations, and we are also strengthening the transmission line network and pursuing various related activities.
